Eight years in the making

Our new pavilion is the result of nearly eight years of planning, fundraising and hard work.

We’ll be adding more of the story of how an idea for a new building became a reality. In the meantime, here are the key milestones.

2018–2019: Developing the plans

March 2018: The DDYP committee agrees on the need for a new permanent building.
Spring 2018: Potential sites are appraised, and a contractor is appointed to review design options.
Summer and autumn 2018: Public surveys are conducted.
December 2018: Concept designs are prepared.
February 2019: An open day and public exhibition are held.
Spring 2019: Outline designs are prepared.
June 2019: Full planning permission is granted.

Spring 2020: Work on the project is paused due to the pandemic.
December 2021: A Development Officer starts at Kilmadock Development Trust to lead fundraising efforts.
May 2022: Planning permission is renewed.
February 2023: The land is purchased from Stirling Council.
October 2023: A contractor is appointed for RIBA Stages 4–7, and technical design work begins.

Spring 2024: The building warrant application is submitted.
September 2024: The building warrant is granted.
November 2024: The temporary building is vacated in preparation for building work.

January 2025: The temporary building is removed from Moray Park for off-site demolition.
February 2025: Groundworks begin.
March 2025: The main timber frame structure is completed.
May 2025: The roof, windows and doors are completed.
August 2025: The main building work is completed.
September 2025: Solar panels are installed and begin producing electricity.
November 2025: The Certificate of Completion is issued.
21 November 2025: The doors open to the public.
24 November 2025: After School Club moves into the new building.
